Laboratories

A solution for lab space shortages

The success of a laboratory can boil down to precision. When you need to increase lab capacity quickly, turn to Fero. We build modular infrastructure that provides the carefully calibrated conditions required by labs—quickly, affordably and sustainably.

Outfitted with complete pressurization control and medical-grade construction materials, each unit can be built and operated as safe, sterile laboratory space. The modular construction makes it easy to scale up or down, ideal for increasing capacity in major metropolitan areas and remote communities alike, as we ship nearly anywhere on Earth by rail, road or sea.

Ready to weather the storm

While the lab space shortage is a challenge for today, our modular solution isn’t a temporary one. Our rigorous construction standards ensure that every Fero unit has a long lifespan.

While we can build and ship units to you in a matter of months, their external shells are robust enough to withstand years of extreme weather events and all kinds of climates, from the high arctic to deserts and everything in between. Inside, we only use finishes that can withstand the continuous disinfection required in a testing facility or laboratory.

The right conditions

Maintaining consistent air temperature and quality is key to the success of laboratory facilities. Our units allow for complete control over air quality: heating, cooling and HEPA-filtered HVAC systems can all be added.

We engineer lab space to meet—and even exceed—the standards of CL2 and CL3: each unit can be sealed off from one another, allowing for simpler biocontainment and limiting spread to the rest of the facility.

Bringing the lab to you

Lab space isn’t just needed in big cities and major hospitals. That’s why we manufacture our units so they can be transported via rail, road and sea to smaller and more remote communities in need of critical infrastructure.

Each unit is also a turnkey solution, which means we can install all the equipment you need. Once your units arrive, very little in the way of specialized labor is needed to install and operate them, meaning you can get down to business almost immediately.

See how it all comes together

Fero’s innovative approach to modular infrastructure makes it easier and more affordable to scale up laboratory capacity than traditional construction. Whether you need the lab space on its own or as part of a complete suite of healthcare infrastructure, everything we manufacture can function by itself or altogether as a complete solution.

Features

  • Exterior and interior: Marine grade powder coated aluminum noncorrosive, non-molding, and fire-resistant materials used in construction

  • Environment: Sound- and thermal-insulated wall panels that are heated and cooled to withstand extreme weather conditions

  • HVAC: Decentralized HVAC system ensures no cross-contamination occurs between laboratory units

  • Air flow and pressurization: Exceeds CL2 air exchange requirements (and can meet CL3 if needed) with a minimum of 12 air exchanges per hour; each room can be negatively pressurized

  • Scalability: Unit sizes can be customized and scaled up or down on a lab-by-lab basis

  • Servicing:  Serviced from the exterior so that no service personnel is required to enter any laboratory space
